Cathal McAteer is a Scottish designer based in London, known for his multidisciplinary approach to clothing, furniture, and design. After beginning his career as a clothing buyer in Glasgow, Cathal founded Folk Clothing in 2001, turning his vision of high-quality, everyday casual wear into reality.

Folk Clothing is celebrated for its meticulous attention to detail, precise cuts, and innovative use of fabrics and textures, creating garments that stand out subtly yet elegantly. Drawing on his early love for furniture making, Cathal expanded the brand into a multidisciplinary studio, designing furniture, objects, and artwork alongside clothing.
